18th Oct - Reds

Postby mhrluscombe on Sat Oct 18, 2008 8:03 pm

Due West in the morning so Me and Roger headed to St. Cats and flew for 45mins. Very smooth soaring to start, but then got a bit bumpy as the wind increased, turned a bit more South and included a bit more thermal activity. When we landed it was too windy to takeoff again.

Headed to the Reds, Mike and Geoff were waiting for the wind to increase. After 20 mins we could see a wind front approaching from the Sea and it quickly increased to ~20mph. Unfortunately it was now too strong for lightweight Mike (eat some more pies) and Geoff with his slow Bolero, but i managed to get off, and Roger followed after a bit of ground handling.
