21st Sept, Reds/Whites to Blackgang

Postby mhrluscombe on Mon Sep 21, 2009 11:38 pm

As forecast it was good conditions for the SW Wight today.I started flying around the Reds and Whites at 14:30, Richard H had just landed and Dave F had just arrived having previuosly flown at Brighstone. It was great easy conditions, perfect. The group of 4 Swiss pilots were also flying, taking off from low takeoff Martin usual uses. After an hour Roger turned up and had a go on my old Golden instead of his Hook. After another hour persuaded my Dad to act as retrieve so we could do a one-way trip to Blackgang. It took about 30 minutes to get there with the wind getting slightly stronger and more Westerley. The intention was to return to Atherfield to land but it was unsafe to attempt to crab around the Fishermans point and I landed on the beach at the point and Roger landed on the beach at Brooke. A great afternoons flying.
