BP CUP 2009

Postby davidf on Mon Feb 16, 2009 10:55 pm

If any pilots are interested in flying the BPC in 2009 (http://www.bpcup.co.uk/) let me know as I will be attending four of the rounds this year (see attached list of dates) and car sharing will cut costs.

REGISTRATION HAS NOW OPENED AND LAST YEAR WAS FULL WITHIN A WEEK!
see pilot list: http://www.bpcup.co.uk/pilotlist.php

The competition is discounted for new pilots this year.

Most rounds only cost £5 to pitch a tent each night, Travel costs vary but you can normally get offers from the ferry company. The competition fee covers the event, entertainment and meals on some of the nights. You need to be Pilot rated ( by the start of the competition) and have an approved GPS. Contact David Fentum on 07990582875 to discuss.

The South East Wales round will be run in conjunction with the Blorenge Bash - one of the best free flying events in the UK.

For 2009, Pat Dower has kindly offered to arrange a series of lectures, by a range of well known pilots, for those rare occasions when the British weather makes for a non flyable day.

Information:
With the decision to hold the UK Nationals round early and in the Borders, we have gone for a back to back with them in the hope that people will be able to make a full week out of it. As far as XC flights are concerned, historically speaking, the best flights start in the north nearer the start of the season and as the year progresses so does the XC potential further south, so we are hoping to follow this pattern, migrating south as the year goes on. Snowdonia of course being exception, this time swapping its early slot to a late one. If things go as planned, the Blorenge party will be held on the weekend we are in S Wales with the comp based at the party site; watch this space for more info. We had a great comp last year and are looking forward to seeing you all again this season.
